It is one of the most picturesque capitals of Rajasthan and has been named the most beautiful city in Asia. The best option for sightseeing in Jaipur is to use taxis, auto rickshaws, and cycle rickshaws. Jaipur has a lot to see including great forts, monuments, mahals, colorful havelies, the Amer Fort and many markets. To truly experience the rich culture, it takes at least 3 days to explore Jaipur.

The main attractions of Jaipur include the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar, which are located in the old town. These attractions are very close together so they can be seen on foot. It also gives you the chance to get up close and personal with life on the streets of Jaipur.

Hawa Mahal is the most famous monument in Jaipur with 5 floors (the wind palace). It has 953 windows with a beautiful filigree through which the air enters. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap so that the royal ladies could watch the parades and processions that went through the streets.

Amer Fort is one of the most beautiful forts around Jaipur. Amber Fort is located in the Aravali Hills, 7 miles from Jaipur. The construction of Amer began in 1590 by Maharaja Man Singh, was rebuilt by Jai Singh in 1724 and served as the residence of the Jaipur royal family.

The Jaigarh Fort, also known as the Victory Fort, was more of a bastion used to defend a city than a royal residence. The Jaigarh Fort was built between the 15th and 18th centuries and is located on the thorn-covered Aravalis Mountain, 15 km from Jaipur. It's not as nice as Amer Fort, but you have to visit the attraction.

Nahargarh Fort is the third fort in Aravalies, 6 km from Jaipur. It is also known as the home of the tigers. The fort offers panoramic views of the city and is well worth a visit.

The Central Government Museum (Albert Hall) houses an excellent collection of art from Rajasthan, including carved ivory, metal objects, jewelry, ceramics, textiles and paintings from various art schools in Rajasthan.
